recent kitchen acquisitions

i really love my kitchen. mainly i just loving getting fun, cute, useful things for my kitchen. one day i also plan to paint it. i have blue counters and dark wood cupboards and i really wanted to go for bright yellow or dark red but i don't know how well it would go with the blue. any ideas?
i called this recent but really these are like, my aquisitions of the last year for my kitchen! more will be coming soon, too, because i just got rid of most of my decorations because we almost moved!!

i got this spoon holder at the local salvation army thrift shop for less than a buck! how cute, eh? i tried to make one a few years ago out of saltdough...it has never gotten painted or finished...maybe someday!

i think it's so fun to have a bunch of cute, mismatched coffee cups. these are just my green ones. i should post all my unmatching mugs one day. i really have a fetish for green. it has to be a bright, lively green though. it's so fresh. i feel happy just looking at them! here is the newest member of my mug family.

when i was a kid we made ice cream out of frozen bananas and other fruit using a champion juicer. ever since i had my own place i've wanted one but they are not cheap! my mom found one somewhere or someone gave it to here and she kindly saved it for a long time for me till i could go get it! they're a bit heavy to ship. i'm so excited about this!

there were some fabulous thrift shops in california where my mom lives. i got these espresso/cappuccino cups at one. the set was only four dollars! they have the cutest little sayings on them: 'how many lumps?', 'stir things up.', 'be half full.' and 'how do you take it?' isn't that just the best? and the funky colors! i'm simply infatuated.

finally, i got a teapot. it's so adorable and i love it. it was supposed to whistle. it did for like, one day. i have no idea what the problem is but it's cute, cheery and red so i don't mind!

last but not least is not exactly a possesion but, he can sure do the dishes in a hurry! so sweet. <3

yay fun kitchen stuff! i love mismatched coffee cups. that juicer looks cool too.

i'm having such a great time putting together your little care package! the main surprise is almost finished, i just have a bit of sewing left to do. and i keep finding more things i want to give you. mostly fabric and yarn and seeds. now that i know you have a juicer i'll throw in some wheatgrass seeds (unless you have wheatgrass already?) i just planted a new batch a few days ago and it's already like 6" tall! love that stuff.

i hope you're having a lovely day!
